SISU Visited GIIS

Ming Guogui and Zhang Yan, theParty secretary and deputy party secretary of Sichuan International StudiesUniversity (SISU), visited Guangdong Institute for International Strategies(GIIS) and had in-depth views on the establishment of Institute for International Strategies of SISU. Sui Guangjun, the Party secretary of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS) and executive deputy directorof GIIS, Xie Wenxin, director of Personnel Department, Wang Zhixiong, director of Postgraduate Department, Li Qing, Secretary-general of GIIS, and Liu Jisen,deputy secretary general of GIIS, were present at the meeting.

Sui Guangjun put forwarded that think tanks should take the initiative in satisfying the demandof relevant government organs. GIIS made government reports of great value andwas highly appreciated by relevant departments by cooperating with some government departments, such as Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Commerce on overseas research and research project. Think tanks should highlight the cultivation and import of talent. Recently, GIIS attracted talent with remarkable academic achievements and great influence in that field to build strong research team. As a reform pilot institution, GIIS actively encouraged structural reform and pioneered university reform in respect of talent and program. He also mentioned that achievements were coupled withfailures during the development of GIIS. GIIS was expected to play a vital rolein the respect of enhancing the research and development of languages and fully taking advantage of languages of GDUFS.

Sui Guangjun proposed to enhance the staff exchanges between both parties and wished Institute for International Strategies of SISU a great success.

Gao Wen, director of  International Trade and Economic Affairs Department of Chongqing Foreign Trade& Economic Relations Commission and Yang Bai, director of School of International Business, also participated in the investigation.
