The Opening Ceremony of Guangdong Research Institute for International Strategies which is Oriented as Supreme Think Tank

In the morning of November 13th 2009, Guangdong Open Forum which is also the opening ceremony of Guangdong Research Institute for International Strategies (GRIIS), was held ceremoniously in Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS).
Wan Qingliang, Vice Governor of Guangdong province, Wei Jianguo, Secretary General of China Center for International Economic Exchanges, leaders of Provincial Party Committee, Provincial Government, Provincial People's Congress, and Provincial Political Consultative Conference, Linda Ringer, Governor of Hawaii, and Consulate officials in Guangzhou from 17 countries attended the forum. Xu Zhenhua, Party Secretary of GDUFS, President Sui Guangjun and other school leaders attended the ceremony. Main leaders of relevant departments of China, provincial leaders, representatives of the foreign states and provinces in Guangzhou unveiled GRIIS. By now, Guangdong Research Institute of International Strategy was formally set in GDUFS.
GRIIS is oriented as the supreme “Think Tank” for Guangdong to plan an open economy and aims to build "two databases and two platforms": "Think-Tank for Open Economic Development", "Database of Research Information on International Strategies", "Platform for Research and Academic Communication on International Strategies" and "Platform for Communication between and Training of Researchers in the Field of International Strategies".
