On September 3rd, "the Forum of China's Tourism Industry Development of 2011" was held in Poly World trade in Pazhou of Guangzhou. Sui Guangjun, the Party secretary of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and the executive deputy director of Guangdong Research Institute for International Strategies attended the forum and made speeches.
The forum was jointly hosted by Guangdong Tourism Administration and Guangzhou Lingnan International Enterprise Group Co., LTD under the entrustment of Guangdong Provincial Government. It collected elites of politics, academics and business to talk on the future and development path of China's tourism industry around the theme of "happy travel and harmonious development". Li Qing, Secretary-general of Guangdong Research Institute for International Strategies and Doctor Wang Xianbin of School of International Trade and Economics also attended the forum.
Professor Sui Guangjun analyzed the source of the motivation for the development of tourism from the creative development with the speech titled "the Evolution and Creative Development of Tourism Industry". In reviewing the process of the development of Guangdong tourism industry, he advanced that the core motivation of transition and upgrading of the industry lay in the industrial innovation. Attention should be paid on the creation of products, type of operation, technology, method of production management, organization and management. Finally, the creation and development of the tourism industry could not be accomplished without the government's support in system and policy. The government could focus on the following points: strengthening regional and international tourism cooperation; further improving the public security system for tourism; establishing and improving the tourist standard system which combines industrial, local and enterprise tourism standards and strengthening the promotion and implementation of tourism standardization; deepening the understanding of serving for the national strategy of "going out" and guiding the utilization of the Chinese culture and the training of professional talents; making tourism prosperous through talents cultivation and science and technology education and opening new prospects for the development of tourism talents.
Professor Sui Guangjun stressed the advantage of GDUFS in cultivating talents of foreign language and economics and trade. He held it as great responsibility and opportunity for GDUFS in this area. GDUFS will continue to send more and better professional talents for the tourism in Guangdong.
