On the morning of October 20th, the Opening Ceremony of Prepost Training of University Teachers in 2011 held by Personnel Department took place in the International Hall in North Campus. Zhong Weihe, president of GDUFS, Fang Fanquan, the vice president, Fang Yingsheng, director of Personnel Department and Yang Shaogang, executive chief editor of "Studies on Strategic Decisions" of Guangdong Research Institute for International Strategies attended the ceremony. It was hosted by Fang Yingsheng.
Zhong Weihe addressed the congratulations and warm welcome to the new teacher on behalf of the university. He introduced the three stages of the building and development of GDUFS and the famous scholars, major issues and representative contribution in academic areas of each stage. He pointed out that "internationalization" is the fundamental character of the university. It has paid much attention on the introducing of talents and training of teachers, such as applying for overseas studying for the teachers. It emphasizes an all-inclusive cultural environment of academic and thinking freedom. Finally, he put forward four requirements for the new teachers: firm belief, honesty, being earnest in work and consistent learning. He quoted Wang Guowei's idea of "Three Levels of Research" to encourage the new teachers to devote to the work and keep learning and improving them.
After the ceremony, Fang Yingsheng declared the arrangement of the training, including introduction of the university, lecture on teacher's morality, policies of the university, teaching and communicating skills of the teachers and so on. After the training, the Personnel Department will organize Pearl River Night Cruise and other activities for the new teachers.
