On 15th June, the Appointment Ceremony of Chief Researchers and Researchers from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies by Guangdong Research Institute for International Strategies was held in the Administration Building in South Campus. Xiao Yaofei and Tang Xiaosong were appointed chief researchers. Chen Hanxi and other 13 scholars were appointed researchers.
Sui Guangjun, the Party secretary of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Gu Yeli, the vice-president, Chen Weiguang, director of Development and Planning Department, Fang Yingsheng, the director of Personnel Department, Yu Pengyi, deputy director of Scientific Research Department, the representatives of School of International Trade and Economics, School of Management, School of Finance, School of Legal Studies and School of Politics, Li Qing, secretary-general of Guangdong Research Institute of International Strategies, and the newly-appointed chief researchers and researchers attended the meeting. The ceremony was hosted by Liu Jisen, the deputy secretary general of GRIIS.

Gu Yeli briefed on the background of the scientific research team and pointed out that the Institute, as a local think tank studying the theories, practices and policies of internationalization strategy of Guangdong, had made achievements in scientific research, talents education, social service and other areas. The Appointment Ceremony is not only an important step for the building of scientific research team and system, but also a mark for the new road of the talents cultivation of GDUFS.

Establish the frame and cooperate
Tang Xiaosong, the chief researcher, expressed his thank for the appointment and hope for the teamwork. Deng Kebin made a speech on behalf of the researchers. He talked on the combination of individual studies with the university and the Institute.
Li Qing said that the Institute had been attempting to build interdisciplinary teams to stimulate creative thinking. She appreciated the effort that the directors of many schools had made for the ceremony. She mentioned that the Institute had four teams majoring in the study of China participating global economic management, business environment, enterprise internationalization, national research and international relations. The teams also cooperate in projects of low-carbon and internationalization studies.
Li Qing talked on the “business environment index” and “multinational operation index”. The two data would be published by the Institute under the support of the Development and Reform Commission and Department of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation of Guangdong Province. Besides, the Institute will promote more academic exchanges and communications this year.
