In the afternoon of May 31th, at the invitation from Guangdong Research Institute for International Strategies, Prof.Shelton Williams attended the symposium on Sino-US relation and discussed related issues with faculties from GRIIS and post-graduates of Center for European Studies. Prof. Yang Shaogang, exective chief editor of “Studies on Strategic Decisions” and Prof. Liu Jisen, secretary general of GRIIS attended the symposium. The symposium was hosted by Prof. Tang Xiaosong, director of US Studies Center.
Prof. Shelton Williams thought that cooperation should be the biggest premise for exchanges between China and US. The economy of US would recover and economic development in China would slow down. Prof.Yang Shaogang pointed out that more academic exchanges between the two countries would improve the communication, understanding and cooperation between China and America. Post-graducate students of Center for European Studies also exchanged ideas with Prof. Shelton Williams.
