On the afternoon of 15th October, a meeting on the Sino-EU Industrial Cooperation was held by GRIIS at meeting room 304. Huang Zhihao, deputy mayor of Yunfu City, Chen Yongcai, deputy commissioner of Investment Attraction Bureau of Yunfu City, Chen Gaoshui, deputy commissioner of Overseas Chinese Affairs and Foreign Affairs Office of Yunfu City, Sui Guangjun, Party secretary of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and the executive deputy director of GRIIS, Li Qing, Secretary-general of GRIIS，Liu Jisen, deputy secretary general of GRIIS, Xiao Yaofei, Chen Wanling and Xiao Kuixi, researchers of GRIIS and Zhang Haihong, the Italian teacher of Faculty of European Language and Culture attended the meeting. Li Qing, Secretary-general of GRIIS hosted the meeting.
Huang Zhihao, the deputy mayor of Yunfu city, introduced the contributions Yunfu city has made to promote the cooperation between China-Italy and China-EU. He showed the strong intention of accelerating the development of stone material industry and the construction of new district in Yunfu city. He also hoped that Yunfu city could cooperate with EU, especially with Italy, in the industry of stone machinery, creative design and convention and exhibition. He wished that GRIIS could provide support and sign the cooperation contract with Yunfu city to help it with the investigation of which organizations or enterprises Yunfu city should cooperate with in Italy.
Sui Guangjun, Party secretary of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and the executive deputy director of GRIIS, suggested that Yunfu city take the cooperative project as the bridge tower of industrial technology cooperation between Italy and China or the test field of economic cooperation between Italy and southern part of China. This project would play an important role in the economic development of Guangdong province and could make it easier to get support from the government. For Yunfu city, the most important thing is to show something persuasive to the foreign investors so that the cooperation could go well. Sui Guangjun said that GRIIS would try its best to support the operation of the project of Yunfu city.
