On the afternoon of March 3, the 45th Yunshan Academic Salon “China-U.S. Relations’ Challenges in East Asia” was held by GRIIS. Participants had a heated discussion on Chinese and American foreign policies in East Asia. Some scholars thought that the East Asian situation is influenced by Chinese foreign policies in East Asia and the domestic nationalist sentiment. Other scholars believed that the tension in East Asia is not simply caused by the change of Chinese foreign policies in East Asia, but the change of power structure, Japanese diplomacy and American foreign policy.
