On the afternoon of November 5, 2014, Ambassador An Yongyu, China’s excellent diplomat and Honorary President of China Association for African Affairs, visited GRIIS and gave a speech on China’s strategic opportunities in Africa. Guo Peng, the counsellor of Policy Planning Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China and Visiting Researcher of GRIIS chaired the lecture. He Chuantian, the vice-president of GDUFS, Li Qing, secretary-general of GRIIS, Prof. Yang Shaogang, executive chief editor of Journal of Strategy and Decision-making, Professor Xiao Yaofei, chief editor of International Economics and Trade Research, Chen Weiguang, director of Higher Education Centre of GDUFS, Prof. Chen Wanling, Director of Research Center for International Trade and Economic and teachers and students of Center for European Studies and School of Legal Studies were present at this lecture.
Ambassador An Yongyu first shared his working experience in Africa, remarking that peace, development and cooperation had become the trend in the current world . The emerging countries are looking for new economic growth points and their own development paths.
