On September 28th2010, Professor Gu Yeli, the Vice-Chancellor of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, and Professor Liu Jisen, the deputy secretary-general of Guangdong Research Institute for International Strategies, attended the Founding Conference of Strategic Alliance of Guangdong Social Scientific Research Institutions, which was held in Guangdong Academy of Social Sciences. Professor Gu Yeli was elected as vice chairman of the conference. Professor Li Qing, Secretary-General of GRIIS, was elected as Deputy Secretary-General of the conference.
The ceremony was hosted by Sun Yun, the president of the Guangzhou Academy of Social Sciences. Liang Guiquan, deputy director of GRIIS and the president of Guangdong Academy of Social Sciences, introduced the construction process of strategic alliance, The staff declared the Strategic Alliance Constitution, and the list of honorary consultants, honorary chairman consultants, Council chairman, vice chairman and directors of the Secretary-General.
After the ceremony, the 1st Conference of Strategic Alliance of Guangdong Social Scientific Research Institutions was held. Liang Guiquan talked about the working plan, emphasizing the pragmatic work. There’re 7 aspects:
2. Coordinating scientific research plan, building exchange mechanisms for major scientific research projects;
3. Building experts database;
4. Coordinating and promoting informationization;
5. Provincial major projects: building cultural base with Guangdong characteristics and research base for scientific development decision-making;
