February 25, 2011, Professor Li Qing, the secretary-general of Guangdong Research Institute for International Strategies discussed on cooperation issues with Xiong Ling, deputy director of the International Department of ICBC Guangdong Branch and Dr. Ma Bin, the program director of China general representative of Birmingham University.
After the discussion, GRIIS and ICBC Guangdong Branch reached the following the international consensus: both parties can be complementary in resources, and can communicate with each other through cooperation, which is helpful for the development of both parties. On one hand, ICBC owns plenty of cases, but is not familiar with the macro situation. On the other hand, the Institute is more concerned about the macro-level studies, and has experts who can provide decision-making support for ICBC and its customer. Both sides are expecting to hold the forum for customers of the bank in late march and are looking for ways of cooperation in database communication.
The Institute and Birmingham University reached the following consensus: both parties can cooperate through common center, which is relatively solidified, and has specific personnel, ideas and things. And both parties can look for programs and host forum.
