On January 24, 2011, Guangdong Foreign Affairs Office, Guangdong Research Institute for International Strategies, and Foshan Foreign Affairs of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Bureau talked on the 2ndChina (Guangdong)-ASEAN Strategic Cooperation Forum, which marked the official start of the preparatory work of this forum.
First of all, Mr. Guo, Foshan Foreign Affairs of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Bureau, introduced the investment condition of Foshan enterprises in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, etc. At present, five districts in Foshan all have enterprises in ASEAN for investment and economic and trade cooperation. Guo wished the Frum to be held in Foshan.
Mr. Li, The Guangdong Office for Foreign Affairs introduced the changes after the First Guangdong Economic and Trade forum. He also stressed the focus of the Guangdong Province this year, which provideed ideas for the theme of the second forum. He suggested that the second forum should be more pragmatic to promote enterprises in Guangdong to go out.
Li Qing, general secretary of the GRIIS introduced the relevant issues about the Institute in the past one year. She thought serving for the local economy had been an important task of the Institute. Building of the database for internationalization and compilation of the series books of Walking into the ASEAN will better serve for the major work of fostering of multinational enterprise for the provincial government and local government.
The three parties also discussed on preparatory issues like the date and theme.
