The Asian Games will come to a close on November 27thin Guangzhou, capital of one of the most developed provinces in China. The total expense was so massive that it out-shined the budget of the 2012 London Olympic Games.
The Asian Games is the largest sports event that has been held in Guangzhou, and turns out to be on the grandest scale since 1951.
Li Yongning, a research fellow of GRIIS, asserted, “Guangzhou will become a global city after the Asian Games, because the investment has helped to promote modernization and internationalization.”
