On the afternoon of April 12, Sui Guangjun, secretary of the Party Committee of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and the executive deputy director of Guangdong Research Institute for International Strategies summoned relevant college teachers and hosted the symposium of"on the impact of Japanese earthquake on the economy and its countermeasures"in the 2ndMeeting Room of Administration Building in North Campus. Teachers of School of Finance, School of International Trade and Economics, and Guangdong Research Institute for International Strategies attended this meeting.
At the meeting, according to the theme, the teachers expressed their own opinions from different angles. They said that the earthquake in Japan posed both challenges and opportunities for Guangdong, China and even the whole world. With the analysis of the influence, it is more important to learn form it, such as how to solve the energy security problem, how to combine developing low-carbon economy with energy structure adjustment, and how to do the crisis management.
Finally, Sui Guangjun summarized for the meeting and encouraged scholars to attach importance to the world events. We can think over the current events in different areas and therefore gain some ideas. Communications and exchanges of views will creat more academic sparks on the study vision and methods of discipline, to promote the comprehensive interdisciplinary research.
