On the afternoon of November 11th, Ye Jundong, the vice chief editor of "Outlook Weekly" of Xinhua News Agency, Zhao Donghui, the executive vice chief editor of the Guangdong Branch of Xinhua News Agency and other officers visited Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. Sui Guangjun, the Party secretary of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, welcomed the guests in the VIP Hall of Administration Building in North Campus. Hu Wentao, the director of Publicity Department of the Party Committee of GDUFS, Li Qing, Secretary-general of Guangdong Research Institute for International Strategies and other school leaders also attended the meeting.
Zhao Donghui reviewed the cooperation of Xinhua News Agency and GDUFS during the Universiade. He appreciated the volunteers sent by the university and the great support on news service. Afterwards, Ye Jundong stated the purpose of the visit which was to extend the cooperation with GDUFS, especially on the establishment of high-level and influential forums with GRIIS.
Sui Guangjun briefly introduced the establishment, present situation and goal of GRIIS. He mainly introduced the "Five-Ones" project, namely, one large-scale forum (Guangdong Open Forum), one series of lectures (Yunshan Forum), one publication (academic journal "Studies on Strategic Decisions" and inside-published "Trends of the International Affairs"), one series of think-tank books, and one international strategic information base. He put forward that GRIIS and Xinhua New Agency had many cooperation opportunities as long as playing as a think-tank for Guangdong Provincial Government and conducting international activities.
