In the afternoon of August 20th, the Expert Discussion Meeting for Doctoral Program of European Studies was held in the 3rdConference Room of Administration Building in North Campus. The expert team, including scholars and leaders from College of International Relations of Jinan University, Foreign Language School of Sun Yat-sen University, and School of Finance, Center for European Studies, School of Management, School of Legal Studies and School of International Trade and Economics of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, discussed on the necessity, feasibility and operation mode of the Doctoral Program of European Studies in GDUFS.
The participants include Prof. Wu Jinping of Jinan University, Prof. Wang Bin of Sun Yat-sen University, Prof. Yang Youxiao, director of School of Finance, Prof. Yang Jiejun, Tang Xiaosong and Zhu Zuixin from School of Legal Studies, Prof. Yi Xingjian, deputy director of School of International Trade and Economics, Prof. Zhang Hongming, deputy director of School of Management, Prof. Li Qing, Secretary-general of Guangdong Research Institute for International Strategies and Prof. Cai Hong, director of Center for European Studies. The meeting was hosted by Li Qing.
Prof. Cai Hong made the demonstration report and introduced the features and necessity of the doctoral program. She mentioned the four research areas and the future curriculum. Then, the experts mainly discussed the definition and contents of the research areas and put forward their suggestions and advice. They agreed that the doctorial program of European Studies was a new highlight of the discipline development of GDUFS and supported the Center for European Studies to apply for it under the first level discipline of Foreign Languages and Literatures.
