On the afternoon of Jun. 28th, GRIIS Research Seminar of “China’s Going-out” was held in the 3rdConference Room, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. The Seminar aimed to ask experts outside GDUFS for advice and suggestions for the project of “China’s Going-out” by GRIIS. The participants included Zeng Yaodong, director of Foreign Security Department of the Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, Zhang Jianming, the minister of Information Department of the Provincial Council for Promotion of International Trade, Wu Tangsheng, deputy director of Trade and Economic Research Department of the Provincial Government Development Research Center, Prof. Xiao Yaofei, chief research fellow of GRIIS, Prof. Liang Lijun, and other research fellows of GRIIS. The Seminar was hosted by Li Qing, secretary-general of GRIIS.
After Professor Xiao’s instruction to the project, director Zeng Yaodong analyzed the challenges for enterprises to “go out” and offered suggestions from the perspective of foreign security. Minister Zhang Jianming introduced the situation of enterprises “going out” and the major purpose for overseas investment based on the work of Provincial Council for Promotion of International Trade. He also talked on the methods, characters and trends of “going-out”, and the ability to cope with risks and offered advice. Deputy director Wu Tangsheng gave the lastest information from the Provincial Government Development Research Center, reported on the research situation of “enterprises going out” and pointed out the problems in process.
At the end of the Seminar, General Secretary Li Qing thanked all the specialists for providing useful information and solutions. She also expressed the hope that the project would proceed smoothly under the cooperation of related experts and leaders.
