The Second International Seminar of Higher Education Internationalization of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies was held in the morning of June 22nd. The participants include more than 100 experts and scholars in higher education internationalization from 15 countries, nine of whom are principals and vice principals of foreign universities. Headed by secretary-general Li Qing, Yang Shaogang, Liu Jisen and Cai Hong of Guangdong Research Institute of International Strategies attended the Seminar.
Ding Shouqing, the deputy director of the Education Department of Guangdong Province, addressed the Seminar. At the opening ceremony, Zhong Weihe, the president of GDUFS, made a keynote speech titled "the International Vision in the Global Competition, the Direction of the Cultivation of the Internationalized Talents of GDUFS". He mentioned that GDUFS specified "internationalization" into four parts: teachers internationalization, students internationalization, scientific research internationalization and management internationalization. To achieve the goals, the university has proposed the project of "three 10s": first, 10% of the students will study abroad in fours years; second, 10% of the students are oversea students; third, 10% of the teachers engaged in teaching research are from abroad.
On the second day of the three-day Seminar, Professor Yang Shaogang made a speech titled "A Strategic Reflection from the Perspective of Educational Internationalization of Graduates". Doctor Cheng Yonglin, researcher of GRIIS, made a speech titled "Strategic Studies of International Personnel Training: Experience and Reference".
