Sui Guangjun Visited South Korean Consul General Mansion and Talked on the Cooperation of China and South Korea

On Oct. 24th, Sui Guangjun, Secretary of GDUFS Party Committee and executive deputy director of GRIIS attended the dinner held in South Korean Consul General Mansion at the invitation of Consul-General Yang Chang-Soo, South Korean Consul-General in Guangzhou. The participants also include Deputy Consul-General Yun Seong Deok, Economic Consular Cho Yun Joo, Business Consular Lee Jae Keun, Consular Choi Kang-Sok, Jiao Fangtai, Director of Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, Li Qing, Secretary General of GRIIS and Quan Yonggen, Deputy Director of Faculty of Asian Languages and Cultures.

Sui Guangjun introduced the Korean language teaching, student education and cultural exchanges withSouth Korean universities of GDUFS, especially the fruitful achievements since the foundation of GRIIS, such as the annual "China-South Korea International Business and Trade Environment Seminar" with Deajin University, invitation of the deputy director of Korean Development Institute to GDUFS for lecture, the promotion of Foshan and Pocheon to be sister cities and so on. The Institute has made great effort and contributions to the official, academic and economic exchanges between the two countries.

Consul-General Yang Chang-Soo approved and appreciated the achievements that GDUFS had made to the two countries' friendship. He stated that Guangdong, as the frontier of reform and opening-up, had close relations with the economic development of South Korea. He paid close attention on the processes of "transferring and upgrading", "happy Guangdong" and "emerging urbanization strategy", which pushed the progress of economy and society. He stressed that it was urgent and important for universities to carry forward interdisciplinary internationalized research and praised the results of GDUFS.

Then, Sui Guangjun thanked for the warm welcome by the Consul-General and presented souvenir. The dinner was ended in the wish for a long lasting friendship of the two countries.
