On Dec. 25th, Prof. Liu Jisen, deputy secretary general of GRIIS, attended the the 4thShenzhen Academic Annual Meeting and Guangzhou Think Tank Forum in Shenzhen Wu Zhou Hotel held by Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee Publicity Department, Shenzhen Allied Social Science Association and Shenzhen Press Group. The annual meeting is the only Chinese academic meeting named after a city. The theme is "adhere to scientific development and build beautiful China". The participants include 150 representatives from governments of Guangdong province and Shenzhen city, the organizers, universities and research institutes and Guangdong Think tanks.
The opening ceremony in the morning was hosted by Li Ruiqi, deputy director general of Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee Publicity Department. The opening addresses were made by Zhang Xiaoru, Party Secretary of Shenzhen Allied Social Science Association and director of Academy of Social Sciences, Wen Xianyuan, deputy director of Guangdong Academy of Social Sciences, Li Xuming, vice president of Guangdong Social Science Association and Wang Jingsheng, director general of Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee Publicity Department.
The keynote speeches were made by Yu Changjiang, deputy director of Humanities and Social Science Department of Shenzhen Graduate School of Peking University, Xia Chuntao, deputy director of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics Research Center of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Prof. Dai Dezheng from Department of International Relations of Politics and Public Administration School of Wuhan University, Li Pengcheng, research fellow of CASS Institute of Philosophy, Zhu Minghong, deputy director of Guangzhou Academy of Social Sciences, Zhao Xikang, director of Scientific Research Department of Guangdong Academy of Social Sciences and Social and Demographic Research Institute, Li Fengliang, vice president of Shenzhen University and director of Cultural Industry Research Institute, Wang Shiwei, vice president of Shenzhen Allied Social Science Association and deputy director of Shenzhen Academy of Social Sciences.
The Conference for the Guangdong Think Tank Alliance was held in the afternoon and included the election of council member organization and vice president. The working plan in 2013 for the Alliance was as follows:
1. Host at least 6 Forums
2. Conduct 3-5 research and investigation in large scale
3. Organize members to make academic exchanges in China and abroad
4. Publicize the journal Guangdong Think Tank
5. Project of Information Base Building
Liu Jisen, on behalf of the GRIIS which is the vice president organization of the Alliance, gave a speech on the meeting in the afternoon and introduced the main work of the Institute in 2012. He proposed that the GRIIS would like to undertake one of the Forums of Think Tank Alliance in 2013.
