The 12thChina Economics Annual Conference was held in Shandong University from Dec. 8thto 9th. Dr. Huang Liangxiong, research fellow of GRIIS, submitted research paper to the conference and was invited to the seminar for paper discussion.
China Economics Annual Conference started in 2001 and was one of the most important economics meetings in China. The theme for this year is "Development and Reform: Vision to China's Economy in the Future". The Conference received more than 1000 papers, over 290 of which were chosen after anonymous review. During the meeting, more than 600 experts and scholars discussed in 71 parallel sessions on the papers of 25 research areas including macro economic, financial and securities, enterprise management, international economy, agricultural economic and institutional economics, health economics, and national defense economics. They explored into the problems in the development and reform of China and looked forward to China's economy in the future.
Dr. Huang Liangxiong presented his paper "Performance analysis on changing city into district--based on the investigation to cities and counties in Guangdong from 2000 to 2009". The paper analyzed the performance of "changing city into district" and rationalize the three reforms of "changing county into city", "changing city into district" and "county under the direct governance of the province and increase the power of the counties with strong economy".
