On the morning of 11thDec, the 2012 Review Meeting of Approving and Initiating Soft Science Research Projectof Guangdongwas held at the Second Conference Hall of the Administrative Building. The project is co-launched by Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong and GDUFS (GRIIS) which is among the first batch of Guangdong key research bases of soft science. It is open to organizations in the whole province and aims at cultivating talents for the prosperity of soft science in Guangdong.
The Project has received 27 applications from the whole province so far. Most of the applicants are young research fellows from universities and research institutes, especially from GDUFS. After the papers were gathered, GRIIS has, under the guidance from Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong, carried out the work of qualification examination, preliminary assessment and experts’ discussion. In order to ensure fairness, a two-way anonymous way of review is adopted in preliminary assessment. The judges are experts from theoretical or practical fields of related topics, jointly chosen by Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong and GRIIS and are required to give just, independent and objective assessments on the papers of declarations.
On the review meeting, every expert read the papers carefully and participated in the discussion. After the discussion on the review comments to the application documents, they voted for the projects to be approved and initiated. The name list would be published after the verification of Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong.
