On 18thMay 2013, the first “Global Economy Seminar” was held in Guangzhou Conghua Congdu International Conference Center. It was led by Cheng Siwei, the former vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, famous economist and management scientist, and Mondale, the Nobel Prize winner in economics and “The Father of Euro”. The seminar was divided into two parts, keynote speech and round table discussion. Some government officials and famous entrepreneurs also participated. They analyzed the trend of global economy and further studied the internationalization route of Chinese companies.
Sui Guangjun, the Party secretary of GDUFS and the executive deputy director of GRIIS, chaired the seminar. The theme was the “Global Economy Situation and the Challenges for China’s Economy”. Guests were Shi Jun, the deputy director of the Economic Committee of the 12thNational Committee of CPPCC, Li Dongsheng, chairman and CEO of TCL Corporation, Li Cheng, chairman and secretary of the party committee of GuangXin Holding Group and Liu Wei, the chairman of Guangzhou JiaDu CO LTD and Suntek Technology CO LTD. Prof. Sui’s profound knowledge along with his humorous and sagacious hosting style won much applause from the participants.

In addition, Li Qing, Secretary-general of GRIIS, Liu Jisen, deputy secretary general of GRIIS, Xiao Yaofei, chief research fellow of GRIIS and Huang Liangxiong, research fellow of GRIIS, also attended the seminar at invitation.
In the discussion after the speech of Mondale, the Nobel Prize winner in economics and “The Father of Euro”, Professor Xiao Yaofei had an in-depth communication with him about the influence of devaluation of Yen on the global economy.
