On 12thOctober, 2013, the seminar of “Global Governance: Mechanism Design and Hot Issue” was held in Beijing. The seminar was hosted by Research Institute of World Economy and Policy of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and was co-organized by Global Governance Laboratory of Research Institution of World Economy and Policy. Prof. Sui Guangjun,the Party secretary of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and the executive deputy director of Guangdong Research Institute for International Strategies, Prof. Li Qing, Secretary-general of GRIIS, Professor Xiao Yaofei, chief editor of "International Economics and Trade Research ", Prof. Chen Weiguang, director of Development and Planning Department and researcher of GRIIS and Dr. Huang Liangxiong, researcher of GRIIS were invited to attend the seminar.
Professor Sui Guangjun made a report titled “the Difficulties of Global Economic Governance and China’s Strategy” at the meeting. He clarified the difficulties in the process of global economic governance and China’s strategy to cope with them. Professor Sui pointed out that China should form its own idea of global governance. He especially emphasized the importance of a comprehensive “going-out” strategy of China.

In the afternoon’s discussion, Dr. Huang Liangxiong presented the paper of “China’s Industrial Restructuring and Global Governance for Economic Imbalance”, co-authored by Professor Li Qing, and received a good response.
