On 24thSeptember, Liu Jisen, deputy secretary general of GRIIS was invited to attend the seminar of Business Environment Construction in Dong Fang hotel. The seminar was held by Guangdong Development and Reform Commission andBritish Consulate-General in Guangzhou.
The meeting was hosted by Liu Wenbin, secretary general of Research Institute of Guangzhou Industrial Development. He first introduced the basic information of Guangdong economy. Andrew Massey, deputy consul general of British Consulate-General in Guangzhou introduced the policy and advantage of business environment in UK. Liu Ji, chief economic manager of Guangdong Development and Reform Commission introduced the overall business situation in Guangdong. Alastair Morgan, consul general of Consulate General of UK in Guangzhou and former trade investment counselor of UK in Guangzhou made a keynote speech based on the example of major infrastructure project investment in UK.
Cheng Zhiyu, vice president of London & Partners in China introduced the practice of constructing business environment and attracting international investors in London. Yan Xiaodong, director of Investment Department of Guangdong Development and Reform Commission introduced the management system for enterprises investing projects in Guangdong. Representatives from Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Department and Office of Legislative Affairs also made speeches. Experts from Structural Reform Research Center, Development Research Center, Guangdong Academy of Social Sciences, GRIIS, Jinan University and South China Normal University also made some statements. Liu Jisen made a statement on International Experience and Construction of Business Environment in Guangdong.
In the interactive session, the representatives also had a heated discussion on how to take advantage of the experience of UK and other countries of constructing the business environment and to build Guangdong into an international and legalized business environment.
