The Fifth China-South Korea International Seminar on Investment Environment was held on November 30th by GDUFS. The theme was the construction of China-South Korea Free Trade Zone. Since the “Friendly Communication Agreement” was signed by GDUFS and Dae Jin University in 2007, the two universities have devoted to promoting the economic interaction between China and South Korea, offering constructive strategies for industrial cooperation between Guangdong and South Korea, enhancing investment environment and mutual benefit.

This seminar is jointly hosted by GDUFS and Dae Jin University and organized by GRIIS and Institute of South Korea-North Korea Research. Participants from Dae Jin University include So SeongKui, director of the Enrollment Publicity Department, Jo DaeWon, director of Chinese Department, Lee JeongSe, professor of international trade, Han WooJeong, professor of drama and image, Lee KangIl, professor of civil engineering, and Park SeongJae from International Communication Department. Participants from GDUFS include He Chuantian, vice president, Li Qing, secretary general of GRIIS, Xiao Yaofei, chief editor of "International Economics and Trade Research", Yang Shaogang, executive chief editor of "Studies on Strategic Decisions", and Quan Yonggen, deputy director of Faculty of Asian Languages and Cultures. The meeting is divided into two sessions, which were hosted by Li Qing and Zheng Jingshu respectively.

So SeongKui looked back upon the achievements of the past seminars. He said this seminar not only included discussions from the perspective of the two countries’ governments, but also studied the FTA between Guangdong and Gyeonggi-do.

Several participants talked about the construction of China-South Korea Free Trade Zone. Xiao Yaofei pointed out that mutual trust and common understanding should be enhanced. Liang Lijun analyzed the “advantages and disadvantages” in constructing China-South Korea Free Trade Zone.

At the end of the seminar, Li Qing made a concluding speech. She approved of the efforts that both sides had made and promoted suggestions.
