The China-ASEAN Strategic Cooperation Forum was Held to Promote Guangdong and Indonesia's Economic and Trade Cooperation

On November 19, The 4th China (Guangdong)-ASEAN Strategic Cooperation Forum and Promotion Meeting for Trade, Tourism and Investment in Indonesia were held at Hilton Hotel of Wanda Plaza in Guangzhou. This meeting aimed at seizing the opportunity of the establishment of China-ASEAN Free Trade Area to promote Guangdong’s enterprises to “go into ASEAN” and enhance Guangdong and Indonesia's economic and trade cooperation.

Distinguished guests who attended this forum include H.E. Mr. Imron Cotan, Ambassador of Indonesia to China, Mr. Anak Agung Gde Alit Santhika, Consul-General of Indonesia in Guangzhou, Ms. Ken Reese Ike, Consul-General of Indonesia in Shanghai, Ms. Aloysia Endang Wahyuningsih, Head of Regional Promotion Facility of Investment Coordinating Board of Indonesia, Mr. Zhong Weihe, President of GDUFS and Deputy Director of GRIIS, Ms. Su Caifang, Deputy General Director of Foreign Affairs Office of People’s Government of Guangdong Province, Mr. Zheng Jianrong, Deputy General Director of Department of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation of Guangdong Province, Ms. Li Qing, Secretary-general of GRIIS, Chen Wanling, Researcher of GRIIS, and the representatives from Guangdong Provincial Oceanic and Fishery Administration, Tourism Administration, Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Bureau of Small and Medium Enterprises. Mr. Li Yuanlin, Director of Coordinating Department of Foreign Affairs Office of People’s Government of Guangdong Province, hosted the meeting.

Mr. Imron said this meeting was an important event after the agreement signed by President Xi Jinping and Indonesia’s President, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. Indonesia enjoys a large market and provides infrastructure to its investors. He hoped that China could further encourage more investments in Indonesia.
