Chu Maoming introduced that the work of a diplomat is to deal with people, both foreigners and Chinese and to tell different stories to different people. Knowing the culture of the country is conducive to diplomatic exchanges and cooperation of the two countries. We should respect foreign culture, seek common ground while putting aside differences, and should not touch the tender pot.

A qualified diplomat also should pay attention to the details of his work, because, he explained, a diplomat represents his own country. He introduced some diplomatic requirements according to his own experience.

Chu said students of GDUFS impressed him as “high-level, highly qualified and highly educated”. Some students present enthusiastically asked questions and their excellent performance won his affirmation.

Other participants include Hu Wentao, the director of Publicity Department of the Party Committee of GDUFS, and Li Qing, Secretary-general of GRIIS. Prof. Chen Hanxi of School of Legal Studies presided over this lecture.
