Famous Professor Forum: Zhao Suisheng Talked on the New China-US Relations

In the afternoon of June 9, Famous Professor Forum, hosted by the Personnel Department and organized by GRIIS, was held in the conference room of GRIIS. Prof. Zhao Huisheng, tenured professor of Josef Korbel School of International Relations of University of Denver and director of the US-China Cooperation Center, and also researcher of John King Fairbank Center of Harvard University was invited to give a lecture. The theme of his speech is "the Prospects and Challenges of New China-US Relations".

Professor Zhao first talked about the very new relations between the two powers and analyzed the similarities and differences of their core interests and common interests by comparing historical development, current situation and China-US forces. Zhao Suisheng stressed that the establishment of the new China-US relations require paying more attention to common interests and harmonious development.

Prof. Zhou Fangyin chaired the forum. Counselor Chu Maoming of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and some other researchers also attended the forum and made in-depth exchanges and discussion with Prof. Zhao. After the forum, Gu Yeli, vice president of GDUFS, met with Prof. Zhao Suisheng and discussed about long-term cooperation and exchanges.
