European Studies Center Held an Opening Ceremony for the Students Enrolled in 2014

In the afternoon of September 18, the opening ceremony of the students of Center for European Studies was held in meeting room 304 of the fifth teaching building. Chen Jianping, deputy party secretary of GDUFS,Li Qing, Secretary-general of GRIIS, tutors for graduate students, including Zheng Lihua, Wang Xiaohai, Liu Jisen, Liang Lijun, Yang Xiaoyan, Lin Dandan, Yang Fei, and Zheng Laxiang, and the new doctoral and master degree candidates were present. This opening ceremony was chaired by Chen Hanxi, director of Center for European Studies.

First of all, Chen Jianping expressed his congratulations to the new students, and introduced to them the history and characteristics of Center for European Studies. He hopes that the freshmen should utilize the academic advantages and conduct the interdisciplinary research.

Li Qing introduced the situation of GRIIS which paid great attention to the education of master students. Therefore, master degree students must publish academic papers from this year on.

Later, tutors have made in-depth exchanges with the students and given them some advice on research orientation and academic plans. This meeting is an good opportunity for them to know each other and plays an important role in their choice of research fields.

After the opening ceremony, the EU Blue Book Seminar was held. The participants agreed to divide groups according to research orientations, and group leaders will be in charge of the composition of the blue book.
