Professor Xiao Yaofei attended the symposium and made speech on behalf of GRIIS. He first introduced Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and Guangdong Research Institute for International Strategies in brief and then talked about three significances of China's entry to the WTO. First, the course of entering WTO is combined with the course of reform and opening-up. Entering WTO was a periodical goal of reform and opening-up and has become a strong driving for it. Second, China has been harvesting since 2003. Third, the international status of China is promoted in all side such as economy, politics and culture. He also analyzed the enlightenments of the entry. First, the reform needs both internal drive and external drive, while the later is deciding. Second, the golden time for harvest has passed. Now is time for overall transition and upgrading of economy. Third, the ten years since China's entry saw a mutual benefit and shared prosperity of China and the world. Fourth, China has become one of the biggest beneficiaries of multilateral free trade system in the ten years.
