Members of Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Committee of Guangdong Provincial Political Consultative Conference Visited GDUFS and GRIIS

On the morning of October 29th, Wu Ruicheng, Standing Committee member of Guangdong Provincial Political Consultative Conference, director of Guangdong Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Committee and director of Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and other members of Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Committee of Guangdong Provincial Political Consultative Conference visited GDUFS. They exchanged ideas with Sui Guangjun, Party secretary of GDUFS and Standing Committee member of Guangdong Provincial Political Consultative Conference, Lu Jinghui, vice Party secretary, and Prof. Wang Chuming, Standing Committee member of Guangdong Provincial Political Consultative Conference,and learned about the development of GDUFS and GRIIS.

Members of Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Committee of Guangdong Provincial Political Consultative Conference visited GDUFS and attended a meeting.

Wu Ruicheng said that this visit was conducive to a better understanding of enterprises and public institutions. He also mentioned that GRIIS had a certain influence on Guangdong’s development strategy planning.

Wu Ruicheng approved the achievements GRIIS had made.

Sui Guangjun warmly welcomed the members of Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Committee and introduced GDUFS to them in such aspects as personnel cultivation, scientific research, and social service. He explained the goal of building GDUFS into an internationalized university of high standards in 2015. Currently, GDUFS committed itself to building a high-level and internationalized talents cultivation base in South China. To serve the local social and economic development, GDUFS actively sets up “two institutions and two bases”. Recently, GDUFS has been authorized to be one of the trial universities that will have more autonomy for high education.

Sui Guangjun is introducing GDUFS.

Li Qing, Standing Committee member of Baiyun District People’s Congress and Secretary-general of GRIIS introduced GRIIS in five aspects: team of experts, scientific research, social service, international communication and cooperation and talents cultivation.

Li Qing said GRIIS combined the research resources both at home and abroad and actively supported local government and enterprises for strategies and decision-making. As a local think tank, GRIIS also strengthened its contact with Chinese central government.

Li Qing introduced GRIIS’s functions as a local think tank.

Li Qing introduced that GRIIS was striving to build an open communication platform through top forums, international conferences and columns in newspaper.

After the meeting, members of Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Committee of Guangdong Provincial Political Consultative Conference visited GRIIS.
