On the afternoon of October 23rd, secretary general Li Qing led a scientific research team of four to Yunfu to investigate the development of Stone Industry. The other three are Liu Jisen, deputy secretary general of GRIIS, Shen Minghao, researcher of GRIIS and director of Cantonese Merchants Research Center, Prof. Zeng Chuhong, deputy director of School of Management.

The investigation team listened to the introduction to the blueprint of Sino-Italian Industrial Park, visited the Yunfu High and New Tech Development Zone, and participated in the meeting hosted by Huang Zhihao, vice mayor of Yunfu city. Huang Zhihao first introduced the intention behind building a Sino-Italian Industrial Park and the way to build it. He also expected to carry out comprehensive and strategic cooperation with GRIIS with its focus on the planning of Sino-Italian Industrial Park.

Secretary General Li Qing analyzed adjustments in the layout of Guangdong’s foreign trade and economy and affirmed that it is important for Yunfu to focus on the cooperation with Europe. She also introduced the advantages of GDUFS and GRIIS in terms of scientific research, talents cultivation, language services, and so on. The two parties exchanged ideas on such issues as content of the framework agreement on strategic cooperation between Municipal Government of Yunfu and GRIIS.
