On the afternoon of March 13, GRIIS held a thematic meeting on the Investigation and Research Report of 2014 at meeting room 304. The meeting was chaired by Liu Jisen, deputy secretary general of GRIIS. The participants include Chu Maoming, visiting researcher of GRIIS and counselor of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hong Shihong, Yunshan Scholar of GDUFS, Li Qing, secretary general of GRIIS, Xiao Yaofei and Tang Xiaosong, chief researchers of GRIIS, Chen Weiguang, director of Research Institute of Higher Education, and researchers like Chen Hanxi, Cheng Yonglin, Xiao Gang, Song Haixiao and Huang Xiongliang. Liu Jisen first briefly reviewed the overall situation of the Investigation and Research Report of the past four years. Then, they discussed about the topic selection and research method of future reports and brought forward a lot of suggestions. Counselor Chu Maoming suggested that exchanges with embassies and consulates should be enhanced so as to expand the influence of GRIIS and present foresighted reports with global vision. In the end, Li Qing concluded that a research team on international relations should be set up to maintain the continuity of research, and the basic database should be well constructed. GRIIS will take efforts to compose the Investigation and Research Reports and provide the government with useful and meaningful policy-making consultation.
